Bridgeport, NJ (September 27, 2013) – On Saturday, October 26, Bridgeport Speedway will host the third annual Bill Thomas Memorial Micro-Sprint Nationals. The IPM Pest Management 600cc Micro-Sprints and 270cc Micro-Sprints will share top billing as the winner of each 30-lap feature will take home $1000. This event pays homage to the late William “Bill” Thomas IV. Thomas was a staunch supporter of Micro-Sprint racing at Bridgeport Speedway and passed away on October 23, 2010 after a brave battle with cancer.

Through the sponsorship of the Thomas family, an enhanced purse will be available for competitors in the IPM Pest Management 600cc Micro-Sprint and 270cc Micro-Sprint divisions. The take the green money in each of these classes will be $80. Car entry forms for the Micro-Sprints are now available at www.bpspeedway.com under the driver forms tab. A time trial format will be used to set lineups for the heat races for the Micro-Sprint classes.

A unique opportunity to earn additional cash will be available for the drivers in the IPM Pest Management 600cc Micro-Sprints and 270cc Micro-Sprints. Sponsorships for each finishing position in the Micro-Sprint features are available for a minimum of $10. In addition to the Micro-Sprint classes, four additional divisions are set to compete on the quarter mile. The 4-Cylinder Enduro Cars are set to tackle the inner oval and will be joined by the Delaware Super Trucks. Black Flagged Racing is the sponsor of this race combining two classes. After a late season race at Bridgeport Speedway that earned praise from competitors and fans, the Slingshots by Tobias will return to Southern New Jersey. The Garden State Vintage Stock Car Club will be returning to compete in an exhibition race on the inner oval. An 8-Cylinder Enduro Car race will complete the agenda.

On Saturday, October 26, the gates open at 3:00 p.m. A trick and treat session for kids with drivers and their cars gets underway at 4:30 p.m. on the midway behind the main grandstand. Racing is set to start at 6:00 p.m. Pit admission is $30. Admission to the grandstands is $15 with no charge for kids 9 and under. In case of inclement weather, the Bill Thomas Memorial will be moved to Saturday, November 2.
