Bridgeport, NJ (September 1, 2013) – Dave Blaney has made plans to attend the Jason Leffler Tribute race on Sunday, September 8 at Bridgeport Speedway. Blaney, the 1995 World of Outlaws sprint car champion and current driver in the Nascar Sprint Cup Series, will be racing a 410 Sprint Car at this special event. In addition, Blaney will be participating in a pre-race meet and greet session. “I am very pleased to have Dave Blaney participate in this very special event,” commented co-promoter Mike Heffner.

All proceeds collected at the Jason Leffler Tribute race, a co-promoted event between Heffner and the Bridgeport Speedway management team will be donated to a fund benefitting Jason’s son, Charlie Dean Leffler. In lieu of a grandstand admission, all fans are encouraged to donate at least $13 as tribute to Leffler who piloted the Tom Buch #13 410 Sprint Car. This one of a kind spectacular has been made possible by the fans and their support from the postponed Night of Wings 2013 show. Spectators with wristbands from the June 12 program will be honored as VIPs for this event. Preferred seating will be established in the grandstand area and the gates will open one hour earlier for these fans. All VIPs will receive a free hot dog and soda. Additional unique plans for our VIPs and other activities benefitting the trust fund for Charlie Dean Leffler are in the works including raffles for racing related items.

The 410 Sprint Cars and TSRS Sprint Cars will be on the agenda for the Jason Leffler Tribute race. The victor of the 25-lap main event for the 410 Sprint Cars will leave Southern New Jersey with $7,000. The take the green money has been set at $500 and non- qualifiers will receive $100. The same format employed on June 12 will be used on September 8. During registration, each 410 Sprint Car driver will draw a pill to determine his or her heat race group. Each grouping will go out for time trials and an inversion of the top four (4) will set the starting lineup of each respective heat race. Drivers not in the top four (4) of their groups will be lined up in the qualifying events by time. The first two (2) finishers in each heat race are eligible for the feature redraw and the fastest qualifier in each grouping will be added as well providing the driver finishes the heat race in a qualifying position. All other heat race qualifiers will be assigned a starting position in the main event by time.
