AFTER A WEEK OFF, TWO BIG RACING EVENTS ARE ON TAP AT BRIDGEPORT SPEEDWAY
Bridgeport, NJ (September 17, 2013) After a week off, two big racing events are on tap at Bridgeport Speedway. On Friday, September 20, the quarter mile competitors will be in action on Championship and Scout Night. The final point races will take place for the IPM Pest Management 600cc Micro-Sprints, 270cc Micro-Sprints and 4-Cylinder Enduro Cars. An enduro for 8-Cylinder Cars with no entry fee and a special appearance by the Garden State Vintage Stock Cars will round out the enhanced card. Gate opens at 5:00 p.m. with action getting cranked up at 7:15 p.m. Admission is $10 and no charge for kids 9 and under. Pit wristbands are $25 with a license and $30 without a license.

On Saturday, September 21, the 5/8th mile will host a huge racing card on Bike, Carneys Point, Pedricktown, and Penns Grove Night. The Big Block Modifieds will top the program as they are set to compete in fifty-one laps of feature racing. In addition to the regularly scheduled event of thirty laps, the remaining twenty-one circuits from the rain postponed contest from May 11 will be staged. With points awarded in each of the features, the tight battle in the Big Block Modified division could take a turn. Currently, Ryan Watt sits atop of the standings with 1102 points. Jimmy Horton trails Watt by only nineteen markers. Third place with 1047 points is Rick Laubach, the 2012 champion. Richie Pratt is in fourth with 1038 points and fifth place is held by Matt Harrell with 931 points. The Outlaw Stock Cars will be in action on this night as well with the third round of their Shoot-Out Series sponsored by Black Flagged Racing. The Crate/Sportsman and Mechanic Races will complete the agenda. The pit area unlocks at 4:30 p.m. Spectators can begin to purchase tickets at 5:30 p.m. and the first racing event starts at 7:00 p.m. Fans (16 and older) are admitted for $15 with student (10-15) tickets priced at $10. Children 9 and under are free. Pit admission is $30 for Bridgeport members and $35 for non-members. All motorcycle drivers along with residents of Carneys Point, Pedricktown, and Penns Grove are admitted to the grandstand at no charge.
