HENDRICKSON HAULS IN $2600 AT BRIDGEPORT SPEEDWAY
BRIDGEPORT, NJ (May 23, 2010) - On Ciconte’s Pizza Wild Wing Night at Bridgeport Speedway, Wade Hendrickson won the Big Block Modified feature and took home the $2600 prize for first place with the expanded entry list. In the Crate Modified event, Neal Williams was the victor. Chuck Palmucci collected the checkered flag in the Tri-State Racesaver Series Sprint Car contest.

Polesitter Jesse Hill led the first two circuits of the 25-lap Big Block Modified feature before Tommy Scheetz, Jr. used the outside groove to overtake Hill. On the fourth tour, Hill lost two more places as Brian Kressley took over second and Wade Hendrickson gained third place. Kressley reeled in Scheetz, Jr, and motored by him on lap 7. Just as Kressley began to enter lap traffic, the first yellow came out as Hill and Butch Tittle simultaneously slowed down on the speedway. When action got back underway, Kressley maintained the top spot but Hendrickson scooted around Scheetz, Jr. for the runner-up position. On lap 10, both Richie Pratt, Jr. and Ryan Watt motored by Scheetz, Jr. and began a tooth and nail fight for third place that was eventually won by Pratt, Jr. Back at the top, Kressley began to confront heavy lap traffic on lap 15. Hendrickson eventually closed in on the leader and was able to get by Kressley on lap 17. As the top two still negotiated congestion on the track, Pratt, Jr. narrowed the gap and passed Kressley for second on lap 20. With Pratt, Jr. appearing to be making a bid for the lead, the final yellow flag was waved for a spin by Chic Cossaboone on lap 23. On the single file restart, Hendrickson outgunned Pratt, Jr. and went unchallenged in the final two laps to collect his forty-fifth career Big Block Modified win at Bridgeport Speedway. With the entries for the Big Block Modified class numbering over twenty-four cars, Hendrickson received a $2600 check for his win. Pratt, Jr. wound up in second place with Kressley taking home a strong third place finish. Chad James passed Ryan Watt on the last lap to garner the fourth spot. The Big Block Modified heat winners were Kressley, Mike Franz, and Bob Sarkisian. The consolation race was won by Jack Hartnett.

In the 20-lap Crate Modified event, Neal Williams blasted by John Cavallaro on lap 12 and cruised the rest of the way to score his first win of 2010. Cavallaro held on for second place with Chuck Hopkins gaining third place on the last lap. Brett Kressley and Larry Lippincott completed the top five finishers. Kressley and Williams were the victors in the Crate Modified qualifying events.

Chuck Palmucci made it two for two in the Tri-State RaceSaver Series Sprint Car races at Bridgeport Speedway by winning the 20-lap feature. Palmucci, who started the feature in fourth, passed the top two of Bruce Kindberg and Jeff Geiges on lap 18 for the lead. Geiges finished second with Kindberg grabbing third place. Bobby Sandt and Mike Piersig rounded out the top five. Mark Bitner and John Wyers each won a heat race.
