HENDRICKSON COLLECTS HIS FIFTH WIN OF THE YEAR AT BRIDGEPORT SPEEDWAY
BRIDGEPORT, NJ (June 6, 2010) - On Camera and Autograph Night at
Bridgeport Speedway, Wade Hendrickson won the Big Block Modified
feature. In the Crate Modified event, Larry Lippincott was the victor
while Rick Broschard grabbed the checkered flag in the Proformance
Cuts Outlaw Stock race.

The original start of the 25-lap Big Block Modified race was scrapped
due to a spin by Dave Howard. When a clean start was achieved, Mike
Franz darted out to the lead with veterans Butch Tittle and Ron
Roberts in the early pursuit. Behind the top three runners, Jimmy
Chester captured fourth place by lap 2 with Wade Hendrickson taking
fifth place one tour later. Quickly, Roberts, Chester and Hendrickson
launched a terrific early race battle for third. By lap 7, Hendrickson
had risen up to third place and he passed Tittle one circuit later to
gain second. With Hendrickson now in the runner up position, Franz’s
comfortable lead was beginning to diminish as the laps clicked off. On
lap 12, the caution flag waved when Tommy Beamer’s ride stopped in
turn three. With Franz choosing the outside lane on the restart,
Hendrickson spurted ahead to the lead with Chester jumping up to
second and Franz dropping down to third. Hendrickson was powering away
from the pack until Butch Tittle slowed on the track due to a flat
tire on lap 17. When the green flag waved again, Hendrickson kept the
lead and began to pull away again. As the checkered flag was
displayed, Hendrickson was comfortably ahead of the field to collect
his fifth win of the season. Chester finished in second place with
Chic Cossaboone getting third. Franz’s strong run was rewarded with a
fourth place finish and Ryan Watt wound up in fifth. Cossaboone,
Hendrickson and Watt were the victors in the Big Block Modified heat
races.

In the 20-lap Crate Modified event, Larry Lippincott’s late race pass
of Mike Cogdill allowed him to win his third race of the year. Eric
Kormann was the early pacesetter until Mike Cogdill took over the top
spot on lap 9. Lippincott, who started the feature in the fifth
position, scurried past the leader on lap 19. Behind the top two of
Lippincott and Mike Cogdill, third place was claimed by Kormann. Neal
Williams and Dan Cogdill rounded out the top five finishers. The Crate
Modified heat race winners were Lippincott and Kormann.

Rick Broschard inherited the lead after an unusual incident and went
on to win his first ever Proformance Cuts Outlaw Stock Car race. Under
caution on lap 8, a collision eliminated the two runners of Pat
Conaway and Jeremy Doerr. As the new leader after the stoppage,
Broschard was never challenged the rest of the race to gain the win.
The rest of the top five finishers were Terry Griffin, Russell Wurst,
Bob Dooley and Pete Ellis.

In the Rookie race, Matt Budd defeated Kyle Newcomb, Frank Raio and
Troy Burger for his fourth triumph of the year.
