Tuesday July 06, 2010 BRIDGEPORT’S SPECIAL MID-WEEK SHOW TO FEATURE TRI-TRACK BIG BLOCK
MODIFIED SERIES AND THREE FEATURE ONLY EVENTS BRIDGEPORT, NJ (July 6, 2010) - On Tuesday, July 20th, the second
mid-week special of 2010 at Bridgeport Speedway will be a must-see
event as racing will take place on both the outer and inner dirt
ovals. On the outer oval, the Tri-Track Big Block Modified Series
returns for the fifth race of the year and the third to be contested
at Bridgeport Speedway. The Big Block Modifieds will be competing in
qualifying events and a 25-lap feature. Current Bridgeport standouts
such as Wade Hendrickson, Richie Pratt, Jr., Chic Cossaboone, Ryan
Watt and Matt Harrell are expected to face a star studded field to
include Jimmy Horton, Rick Laubach and Duane Howard. The winner of
this Tri-Track Big Block Modified race is a guaranteed starter in the
third edition of the SuperNationals on Oct. 8-9 at Five Mile Point
Speedway in Kirkwood, N.Y.
In addition, three different classes will be competing in 25-lap
invitational features only. For the first time since 2005, the Super
Late Models return to Bridgeport Speedway. Ricky Elliott, Rick Eckert,
Austin Hubbard, Alan Sagi, Jeremy Miller, Kenny Pettyjohn, Mark
Pettyjohn and Colby Frye are just some of the names in Super Late
Model circles headed to the big 5/8th mile dirt oval in the Garden
State. The Crate Modifieds will also be in action. Mike White, Shawn
Ward, Brandon Perdue, Neal Williams, Travis Hill and Chuck Hopkins are
just a few of the entrants for the Crate Modified race. On the quarter
mile track, the 600cc Micro-Sprints will partake in a winged event.
On Tuesday July 20th, the gates to the pits will unlock at 4:00 PM,
spectator gates open at 5:00 PM, and the racing gets underway at 7:30
PM. Grandstand admission is $25 for adults. Kids 12 and under are
admitted for free. Pit Admission for this event will be $35. A rain
date of Wednesday, July 21st has been scheduled for this program.
Bridgeport Speedway provides a safe and secure family atmosphere, free
parking, giveaways and fan participation games. Billed ‘The Fastest
Dirt Track in the East’, Bridgeport Speedway is a banked 5/8th mile
dirt oval, featuring a dirt 1/4 mile oval embedded in the center, and
is located in Southern New Jersey -- just minutes from Pennsylvania
and Delaware at exit 14 off of I-295.
