PRATT RIDES BACK TO VICTORY LANE AT BRIDGEPORT SPEEDWAY
BRIDGEPORT, NJ (August 29, 2010) - On Bike Night at Bridgeport
Speedway, Richie Pratt, Jr. was victorious in the Big Block Modified
feature and was awarded $2600 for his efforts. In the Crate Modified
event, Travis Hill was the winner. John Wyers snared the checkered
flag in the Tri-State RaceSaver Sprint main.

In the 25-lap Big Block Modified feature, Jack Hartnett jumped out to
the lead with Brian Kressley, Brett Ballard, Ron Roberts and Mike
Franz in pursuit. Quickly, Kressley began to apply heavy pressure on
Hartnett for the lead. Kressley took over the lead on lap 5 after
contact sent Hartnett back to third place with Roberts gaining second.
One lap later, Roberts became the new man on top and he began to
stretch out his lead. By lap 10, Roberts had nearly a full
straightaway lead with excellent positional battles ensuing behind
him. Richie Pratt, Jr., continued his march towards the front as he
reached second place on lap 11 with Mike Iles clawing his way up to
third on lap 13. Also on lap 13, Roberts’comfortable advantage was
lost as Bob Sarkisian spun and Steve Durand collided with him. On the
restart, Roberts chose the outside pole as he and Pratt, Jr. raced
side by sided for an entire lap until Pratt, Jr. edged his way to the
front. Just after Pratt, Jr. took the lead, the yellow lights
illuminated on lap 14 for a flat tire on Butch Tittle’s ride. Pratt,
Jr. used the outside pole to keep the lead when action resumed and
Iles and Wade Hendrickson motored by Roberts to gain second and third
respectively. With Pratt, Jr. distancing himself, Iles and Hendrickson
were duking it out for second place. With five laps remaining, Pratt,
Jr. had a half straightaway lead. On lap 22, Hendrickson claimed the
runner-up spot and began to narrow the gap. On the final lap, Pratt,
Jr. successfully navigated his way through lap traffic to cross the
finish line six-tenths of a second ahead of Hendrickson. The victory
for Pratt, Jr. was his second of the season and was worth $2600. Iles
came home in third place. Brett Ballard had an impressive run to
finish fourth and Chic Cossaboone wound up in fifth place. Roberts,
Chad James and Iles were winners of the Big Block Modified heat races.
The consolation race was taken by Durand.

Travis Hill started on the pole and led all twenty laps to snag the
victory in the Crate Modified feature. After having a healthy lead
over his rivals for a majority of the race, Hill survived a lap 17
restart to win his seventh race of 2010. Brett Kressley was second
with third place going to Larry Lippincott. Ron Roberts and Matt Budd
completed the top five. Hill and Lippincott were victors in the Crate
Modified heat races.

Using a lap 18 restart, John Wyers passed Bill Case, Jr. on the
backstretch and collected his third checkered flag of the season in
the 20-lap Tri-State RaceSaver (TSRS) Sprint Car main. Case, Jr. had
led the opening eighteen laps until Wyers became the leader. Jeff
Geiges gained second place over Case, Jr. after a last lap pass.
Cameron Merriman finished in fourth and Stef Palmai held on for fifth
place. Bill Coursa and Wyers won the heat races for the TSRS Sprints.
