Thursday November 04, 2010 TSRS SPRINTS ADDED TO BRIDGEPORT’S SECOND ANNUAL CHARLIE BRAY MEMORIAL BRIDGEPORT, NJ (November 1, 2010) - The Tri-State RaceSaver(TSRS)
Sprints have been added to the second annual Charlie Bray Memorial to
be held at Bridgeport Speedway on Sunday, November 21. This special
season ending race is named in honor of the late Bridgeport Speedway
Official, who passed away suddenly on December 8, 2008. At this race,
the TSRS Sprints will close out their inaugural season. Jeff Geiges,
the current point leader, is looking to secure the TSRS Sprint
championship with John Wyers sitting in second place in the standings.
The main attraction of the second annual Charlie Bray Memorial is the
final race of the 2010 Tri-Track Big Block Modified Challenge Series.
A 30-lap main for the mighty Big Block Modifieds will be contested
with a $3000 payday for the victor and $200 to take the green. The
Crate Modifieds will compete in two main events. In addition to a
20-lap makeup feature from Tuesday, July 20th, the Crate Modifieds
will compete in a complete program with this feature worth $800 to the
winner. Lap money will be distributed for the Charlie Bray features
in the Big Block Modified and the Crate Modified classes. The
Proformance Cuts Outlaw Stock Cars are on the docket with a 20-lap
race with $500 on tap for the top finisher.
For kids of all ages, this day will also feature the Halloween in
November festivities which was a hit with the fans in 2009. Haunted
Skyboxes, costume contests for adults and children, and race teams
participating in Trick or Treat for the kids are among the special
activities slated to occur during the day. Arynne Moody, Ms. Dirt
Trackin’ 2010, will be in attendance as well for this gala event.
On Sunday, November 21, the gates to the pit area will open at 10:00
AM with the grandstand turnstiles unlocking at 11:00 AM. Trick or
Treat in the pit area gets underway at noon. Warm-ups get underway at
1:00 PM with racing action to begin shortly after hot laps. Pit
admission for the Charlie Bray Memorial will be $40 and general
grandstand admission will be $25 with no charge for kids 12 and under.
A rain date of Sunday, November 28 has been scheduled for this event.
Bridgeport Speedway provides a safe and secure family atmosphere, free
parking, giveaways and fan participation games. Billed ‘The Fastest
Dirt Track in the East’, Bridgeport Speedway is a banked 5/8th mile
dirt oval, featuring a dirt 1/4 mile oval embedded in the center, and
is located in Southern New Jersey -- just minutes from Pennsylvania
and Delaware at exit 14 off of I-295.
