Thursday May 12, 2011 PIZZA KING NIGHT AT GEORGETOWN SPEEDWAY SHOWCASES THE URC SPRINT CARS AND A CHICKEN WING EATING CONTEST
GEORGETOWN, DE (May 12, 2011) – During Memorial Day weekend, wings will be flying at Georgetown Speedway on Sunday, May 29. On the racetrack, winged sprint cars from the popular United Racing Company (URC) will return to the half-mile dirt speedway on Pizza King Night. All of the URC stars are expected to be on hand including JJ Grasso, Curt Michael, Becca Anderson, and Kramer Williamson.
At intermission, a chicken wing eating contest is scheduled. Pizza King, a popular eatery with three current locations in Delaware and a new Bridgeville venue opening in June, will be supplying the chicken wings for this event. Pizza King has been satisfying customers for over 32 years with a wide variety of food including pizza, chicken wings, subs, wraps, salads and seafood.
This special holiday show will include the Bridgeport Modifieds. The victor of the Bridgeport Modified feature event will take home $1,200 if the number of entries in the Bridgeport Modified class exceeds thirty. If the car count in the Bridgeport Modified class is thirty or under, the winner will receive $1,000. The Crate Late Models will round out the three division card.
On Sunday, May 29, pit gates will unlock at 4:00 PM and the fans can enter the grandstands at 5:00 PM. Hot laps will hit the track at 6:15 PM. General grandstand admission tickets are $20 and no charge for kids 12 and under. Admission to the pit area is $35.
Georgetown Speedway is a 1/2 mile dirt oval located on the northbound side of U.S. Route 113, just 35 miles south of Dover, Delaware, a 45-minute drive from Ocean City, Maryland, and easily accessible from Washington DC, Baltimore, and Philadelphia.
