Monday July 04, 2011 SECOND HALF OF SEASON AT BRIDGEPORT SPEEDWAY KICKS OFF WITH TWO BIG EVENTS
BRIDGEPORT, NJ (July 4, 2011) – After being dark during the first weekend of July, Bridgeport Speedway resumes activity with two special events to kickoff the second half of the racing season.
On July 8, the 600cc Micro-Sprints will be competing in twin 15-lap features during this edition of Fast and Furious Friday action on the quarter mile speedway. The 270cc Micro-Sprints and 4-Cylinder Stock Cars will be in competition as well. An open tire rule will be in effect for this event for the 270cc and 600cc Micro-Sprints. On Friday, July 8, all gates will open at 5:00 p.m. with the first green flag waving at 7:00 p.m. Adult grandstand admission is $10.00 with kids 12 and under admitted for free.
A Camera and Autograph session is slated for Saturday, July 9 as racing moves over to the big 5/8th mile oval. All fans will be able to meet and greet their favorite drivers from 4:30 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. On the race docket, the URC Sprint Cars and 358 Sportsman will join the Bridgeport Modifieds and Proformance Cuts Outlaw Stock Cars on the enhanced four-division card. The first round of Bridgeport’s Battle of the Bands will take place and Mantua Township residents will be able to save $5.00 off grandstand admission with proper verification. Also, Proformance Cuts will be on location and offering $10 haircuts under the grandstand pavilion prior to the start of racing. The grandstand gates will open thirty minutes earlier at 4:30 p.m. with action starting at 7:00 p.m. General admission for adults is $25 with kids 12 and under admitted for free.
Bridgeport Speedway provides a safe and secure family atmosphere, free parking, giveaways and fan participation games. Billed ‘The Fastest Dirt Track in the East’, Bridgeport Speedway is a banked 5/8th mile dirt oval, featuring a dirt 1/4 mile oval embedded in the center, and is located in Southern New Jersey -- just minutes from Pennsylvania and Delaware at exit 14 off of I-295.
