Friday August 26, 2011 HURRICANE IRENE INTERUPTS RACING AT BRIDGEPORT SPEEDWAY
BRIDGEPORT, NJ (August 26, 2011) – With Hurricane Irene setting her eyes on the state of New Jersey, Bridgeport Speedway management cancelled racing events for Friday, August 26 and Saturday, August 27.
The next racing program at Bridgeport Speedway is set for Back to School Night on Saturday, September 3. The 358 Sportsman will be on the schedule along with the Bridgeport Modifieds and Proformance Cuts Outlaw Stock Cars. All teachers will be admitted to the grandstand area for $10. Special giveaways for school bound kids will be doled out during the evening. Plus, residents of West Deptford Township will receive a $5.00 off general admission with proper identification. On Saturday, September 3, the pit area will open at 4:00 p.m. with the grandstand gates unlocking at 5:00 p.m. The first green flag flies at 7:00 p.m. Pit admission is $30 with a pit license and $40 without a license. General grandstand admission for adults is $15 with kids 12 and under admitted for free.
Quarter mile racing resumes on Friday, September 9 with a historic event. The first open Modified race is on tap along with a three-division program of Micro-Sprints (270cc and 600cc) and 4-Cylinder Stock Cars). All Big Block Modifieds, Small Block Modifieds, Sportsman and Bridgeport Modifieds are invited to attend this race. Additional information including rules can be found at www.bpspeedway.com. On Friday, September 9, all gates open at 5:00 p.m. with racing set to begin at 7:00 p.m. Adult admission to the grandstand is $12 with no charge for children 12 and under. Admission to the pit area is $25 with a license and $30 without a license.

Billed ‘The Fastest Dirt Track in the East’, Bridgeport Speedway is a banked 5/8th mile dirt oval, featuring a dirt 1/4 mile oval embedded in the center, and is located in Southern New Jersey -- just minutes from Pennsylvania and Delaware at exit 14 off of I-295.
