Friday March 01, 2013 WINNER’S SHARE OF THE 60 OVER SPECIAL AT BRIDGEPORT SPEEDWAY IS ENHANCED WITH 60 OVER CHALLENGE Bridgeport, NJ (March 1, 2013) – The 2013 opening event on Saturday, March 30 at Bridgeport Speedway just got richer for the winner. With “The 60 Over Challenge”,a $60 gambler’s fee, the victor of the “The 60 Over Special” can go home with $6,060.60. “Originally, the winner would have received $4,000,” stated new track manager Keith Hoffman. “We decided to raise the victor’s share with The 60 Over Challenge as another way to enhance our opener.”
“The 60 Over Special”, a tribute to Doug Hoffman, will be a 60-lap Race of Champions Big Block Modified race. Doug Hoffman, the 2012 promoter of Bridgeport Speedway, passed away on December 24, 2012. In addition, this event will be the opening hand of the 2013 Big Block Modified Poker Series. Many Modified stars from across the northeast are expected to be on hand.
In addition, two other divisions will be in action on this day. A 30-lap Poker Series race is set for the new Crate/Sportsman division. The Outlaw Stock Car Shoot Out Series gets started with the “Bill Reynolds Memorial 20” in memory of the former Bridgeport Speedway novelty owner.
On Saturday, March 30, the pit gates unlock at 11:00 a.m. with the grandstand turnstiles opening at 1:00 p.m. Warm-up are set to start at 3:00 p.m. with racing cranking up at 4:00 p.m. Adult (16 and older) admission for the opener will be $25 with students (10-15) being admitted for $12. Kids 9 and under are free. Admittance to the pits is $35. Big Block Modified competitors can download the gambler’s fee entry form from the driver’s form tab at www.bpspeedway.com.
