Thursday November 20, 2008 DUAL TRACK SERIES CHAMPION TO BE CROWNED AT GEORGETOWN SPEEDWAY ON NOVEMBER 22nd GEORGETOWN, DE (November 19, 2008) - With the fall weather causing havoc with track schedules, the management team of Bridgeport and Georgetown Speedway came up with a plan for Georgetown Speedway to host the 2008 finale of the Garden State Dual Track series for the Big Block Modifieds on Saturday November 22nd. Due to the lateness of the season and unsettled weather, the 5th Annual Turkey Chase at Bridgeport Speedway scheduled for November 22nd has been cancelled.
With seven races completed in the series, Rick Laubach from Hellertown, PA heads into the final event at the top of the standings. The final 2008 race of the Garden State Dual track series will be a 30-lap blockbuster event with $3000 going to the winner. The Super Late Models will be co-headlining and will also vie in a 30-lap feature with a $3000 payday on tap for the winner.
GM Sportsman/Crate Modified cars and Crate Late Models will each compete in 20-lap features paying $1000 to the victor. "Crate 2" cars can also compete with the GM Sportsman/Crate Modified cars, but will be required to weigh 2450 lbs. The very popular Little Lincolns will do battle in a 15-lap main event.
Pit Gates at Georgetown Speedway will swing open at 11:00 AM, Grandstand Gates open at 1:00 PM, and warm-ups will hit the track at 2:00 PM. General admission tickets are $25 with children 12 and under admitted for free. Admission to the pit area is $35. Additional information and rules for this event are available at www.georgetownspeedway.com.
Georgetown Speedway is 1/2 mile dirt oval located on the northbound side of U.S. Route 113, just 35 miles south of Dover, Delaware, a 45-minute drive from Ocean City, and easily accessible from Washington DC, Baltimore, and Philadelphia.
