Thursday June 18, 2009 BPG TRI-TRACK SERIES RESUMES AT BRIDGEPORT SPEEDWAY WITH OLD SCHOOL
WINGATE CLASSIC TWIN 20s BRIDGEPORT, NJ (June 17, 2009) - The 12th annual George Wingate Old
School Classic at Bridgeport Speedway on Tuesday, June 23rd at 7:30 PM
has an added twist this year. As the third leg of the BPG Tri-Track
Big Block Modified Challenge Series, this year’s race will consist
of two 20-lap features with each paying $2000 to win as opposed to one
40-lap feature event for the mighty Modifieds.
Many Bridgeport Speedway regulars including Wade Hendrickson, Richie
Pratt, Jr., Chad James, Jimmy Horton, Jimmy Chester and Ryan Watt are
planning to be in action at this special race which honors the late
Bridgeport Speedway promoter. Other stars such as Billy Pauch, Sr.,
Billy Pauch, Jr., Rick Laubach, Duane Howard, Craig Von Dohren, Ryan
Godown and Jeff Strunk are expected to participate. After two events
in the ten race BPG Tri-Track Big Block Modified Challenge series,
Bridgeport Speedway regular Ryan Watt sits on top of the standings
with 196 points. Jimmy Chester is in second place with 184 points and
Billy Pauch, Sr. holds third place with 168 points. Jimmy Horton and
Rick Laubach complete the top five with 160 and 134 points
respectively. Also, Collegiate Living.com will be awarding a cash
bonus to the winners of the Big Block Modified heat races at the
George Wingate Old School Classic. A 20-lap 358 Open Sportsman event
will complete the two division program.
Pit Gates will open at 4:00 PM, Grandstand Gates open at 5:00 PM, and
the racing will commence at 7:00 PM. General Admission tickets are $20
for adults. Kids 12 and under are admitted for free. Pit Admission is
$30 and no pit license is required. A rain date of Wednesday, June
24th has been scheduled for this event.
Bridgeport Speedway provides a safe and secure family atmosphere,
free parking, giveaways and fan participation games. Billed ‘The
Fastest Dirt Track in the East’, Bridgeport Speedway is a banked
5/8th mile dirt oval, featuring a dirt 1/4 mile oval embedded in the
center, and is located in Southern New Jersey -- just minutes from
Pennsylvania and Delaware at exit 14 off of I-295.
